QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree or High School Diploma/G.E.D and NCLB required.
Must be willing to participate in ongoing professional development.
Experience performing the basic responsibilities required to operate a school library/multi-media center such as the Dewey Decimal System.
Proficient in technology and use of office equipment. Must be willing to engage in ongoing learning in the field of office technology.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A high tolerance for frustration and a high degree of patience.
Experience with audio-visual equipment.
Excellent organizational skills.
Knowledge of filing rules.
Ability to work well with others including children.
Ability to work independently in maintaining effective work patterns.
Valid PA Driver's License required and must have the ability to report on time to various locations based on need.
Regular attendance is required.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

JOB GOAL: To operate a functioning school computer center and to assist in establishing and maintaining a well-organized library/media program that provides services and resources for students, teachers and administrators.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist teachers and students in the use of equipment including AV and microcomputers.
Operate media center equipment.
Assist with materials and equipment inventories in the library/media center, including, but not limited to: textbooks, technology and calculators.
Check in and out appropriate materials.
Perform automated circulation routines and maintain circulation, including overdue materials and shelving of resources.
Correspond and communicate with patrons and parents/guardians regarding library matters
Process media center resources.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintain supply inventories.
Perform basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on equipment and minor repairs on resources.
Assist with the preparation of bulletin boards and displays.
Assist in maintaining child accounting records as needed.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School year
EVALUATION: For new employees, evaluations will be performed according to the collective bargaining agreement. For transferring employees, evaluations will be done at 30 days. All regular employees will be evaluated at least yearly.
