NOTICE OF POSITION

POSITION : The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

Extended Learning Time - After School Program at School #32

Grades K, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

QUALIFICATIONS :

Candidates must hold a valid General Education and/or Special Education New York certificate. In grades K-8 core and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured, probationary or temporary teacher. Candidates must be willing to work 2 days a week, Monday-Friday, 4:05-6:05. Teachers will create lesson plans and utilize the curriculum provided to them, as well as supplement as needed with supervisors' approval. Teachers are expected to provide support & positive interaction with students, administer pre and post assessments, maintain attendance, and as needed, communicate and provide information to parents on the progress of their child .

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teachers will work under the supervision of the Building Administration:

  • Instructing students on grade level coursework using differentiated strategies and approaches effective in working with students in need of academic supports.
  • Provide instruction to students in Grades K - 8 according to CCLS.
  • Prepare lessons for students using curriculum provided by school administrator.
  • Outside planning time will be necessary.
  • Teachers will be required to work a minimum of 2 hours a day, 2 days a week (Monday & Wednesday).
  • Attend mandatory program training after school.
  • Utilize web based programs in the areas of Math and ELA.
APPOINTMENT :
Appointment will be made by the building principals who will select the candidates that best match the recruitment bulletin and the after-school program description.
