Technical support for Curriculum and Instruction Department

Salary Plan, Grade, Step: CSE - Central Class Emp 205day, R79, 1
Hourly Rate: $20.50, Annual Rate: $33,615
RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY: Provide technical support for Curriculum and Instruction staff in the areas of department websites, professional learning resources and materials plus the organization of computer/office equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop and maintain department websites and resources, including video streaming, live and recorded webinars, presentations, and other resources.
Film and produce department professional development and teaching using digital equipment for training purposes. Regular travel required.
Assist with coordination of resources for department meetings, trainings, and professional development, including supplies, materials, scheduling locations, etc.
Order, organize, maintain and coordinate distribution of technology, materials and resources for the department.
Work effectively in office and school settings, which include a diversity of colleagues, communities, students, and families. Work collaboratively with other central department staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High School diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years' experience in an educational and office setting required. Experience working with digital photography, videography, video editing and basic website maintenance preferred. One year of school-based classroom experience working with English Language Learners preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EQUIPMENT: Requires excellent oral and written communication as well as organizational and office management skills. Ability to problem solve; use good judgment and diplomacy; and to work effectively under pressure with a high level of confidentiality and flexibility. Skilled in Google apps, Microsoft Office, Outlook. Willingness to learn HTML and district web applications. Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and seek out appropriate resources to solve technology problems. Requires attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Bilingual preferred. May be required to take necessary training to maintain skill level. May be required to take a skills assessment as part of the application process.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS: None required.
SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. This position serves as a technical resource for administrators and staff throughout the District by answering questions and problem solving issues related to curriculum and instruction.
CONTACTS: Position will have daily contact with persons in same work unit/building and other departments, as well as with principals, teachers, tutors, and other school staff.
SAFETY TO SELF AND OTHERS: Medium exposure to self to repetitive motion injuries due to keyboarding. Low exposure to self to cuts and bruises due to typical office accidents.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, coordinate, compute, use interpersonal skills, and compile. The employee is frequently required to compare, analyze, copy, synthesize, evaluate, and negotiate. The employee is occasionally required to instruct. Must be able to drive and have an operable automobile.
JUDGMENT AND DECISION MAKING: Self-directed in collaboration with the program administrator. Requires a high level of independent judgment, quick decision-making and analytical skills to determine manner and operational steps necessary to properly handle inquiries and perform daily tasks within professional standards. Decision-making is guided by District department/division and/or school policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws. Assures confidential information regarding students and staff is not disseminated inappropriately. Decision-making requires daily collaboration with staff members, state/private agencies and parents. Errors in decision-making could lead to loss of confidence in or impact the credibility of the department and/or the District. Supervisor is involved in major decisions.
DIVERSITY OF DUTIES: Position will be in contact with District departments and outside agencies. Position requires tact and diplomacy to maintain relationships, resolve problems, and negotiate matters often involving high confidentiality in a timely manner. Technical skills will require cross training.
