NOTICE OF POSITION

POSITION : The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

Extended Learning Time - After School Program at School #89

Grade K - 8 Teachers

QUALIFICATIONS :
Candidates must hold a valid General Education and/or Special Education New York certificate i n grades K-8 core and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured, probationary or temporary teacher. Candidates must be willing to work 2 days a week, Monday through Friday 4:00-6:00 P.M. from October 16, 2019 until the end of program.

Teachers will create lesson plans and utilize the curriculum provided to them, as well as supplement as needed with supervisors' approval. Teachers are expected to provide support & positive interaction with students, administer pre and post assessments, maintain attendance, and as needed, communicate and provide information to parents on the progress of their child.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teachers will work under the supervision of the Building Administration:
  • Instructing students on grade level coursework using differentiated strategies and approaches effective in working with students in need of academic supports.
  • Provide instruction to students in Grades K - 8 according to CCLS.
  • Prepare lessons for students using curriculum provided by school administrator.
  • Outside planning time will be necessary.
  • Teachers will be required to work a minimum of 2 hours a day, 4:00-6:00 P.M. 2-5 days a week.
  • Attend mandatory program training after school.
  • Utilize web based programs in the areas of Math and ELA.


APPOINTMENT :
Appointment will be made by the building principals who will select the candidates that best match the recruitment bulletin and the after-school program description.
