We are recruiting creative, compassionate, caring professionals eager to help our students excel academically and achieve post-secondary success. We are currently accepting applications for a Certified Science Teacher at our Excel South campus located in Philadelphia, PA.

Excel South, a grades 9-12, accelerated academic program partnered with the School District of Philadelphia, is seeking a highly motivated team player certified in Science.

We are a hard working, cohesive, community-focused school. Our ideal candidate would be a professional who has: a desire to reach out to students who may need extra classroom and behavioral supports, the ability to use a variety of engagement practices in an inclusion setting, and the skills to reflect on and improve instructional strategies.

Our Science Teachers are responsible for designing and providing instruction in accordance with curriculum planning and timing guidelines. Teachers also conduct frequent and appropriate assessments to determine student understanding. They work closely with other instructional staff, support staff and administration with a focus on producing favorable academic outcomes and a positive school climate.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Current Pennsylvania Education Teaching Certificate with Science endorsement
  • One year experience working with at-risk youth preferred
  • Proven ability and working knowledge with Microsoft software applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills and supervisory skills preferred
