The Bourne School Committee invites exceptional candidates to apply for the position of Superintendent of Schools. 

Bourne is a beautiful coastal community located on Buzzards Bay in the northwest section of Cape Cod. Residents and visitors enjoy superb sports fishing, boating, swimming, shell fishing, scenic bike rides along the canal, hiking along its many trails, and much more.

With a budget of over $32,000,000, Bourne Public Schools educates 1,945 students in four schools.  The Bourne Public Schools has just transitioned to the following grade spans and schools: Bourne High School (BHS), Grades 9-12; Bourne Middle School (BMS), Grades 6-8; Bourne Intermediate School (BIS), Grades 3-5; and Bournedale Elementary School (BES), Grades PreK-2. Bourne is proud to announce that it will provide all day kindergarten at no charge beginning this year. Additionally, a brand new school, Bourne Intermediate School, just opened its doors for the current school year. The new school had strong community support from the beginning, and the facility was completed on time and under budget. One of the main district goals is “to implement fundamental practices across the district that support the maximum academic, social and emotional growth of students.”

The position offers the opportunity to join a faculty, staff, and administration that is focused on continuous improvement; lead the district’s smooth transition to new grade configurations; work with an engaged and supportive community; and support and implement best practices across the district.
