About This Role...
NWEA is looking for a sharp, passionate designer who believes in the power of education and wants to use their visual design talents to make the world a better place by helping teachers. This is a temporary position expected to last until July 1, 2020. As part of our team-Professional Learning Design-you'll play a key role in creating best-in-class learning experiences for K-12 educators. In close collaboration with content writers, subject matter experts, UX researchers, UX designers and instructional designers, you wil l create learning materials to support face-to-face workshops and self-directed digital learning experiences.

Graphic Designer, Professional Learning Design

Who You Are...
- A strong systems thinker who also has a keen eye for detail, you will be involved at all stages of the design process-from inception through final production. You'll research, brainstorm, and storyboard. You'll sketch, pitch, prototype, test, and iterate. You'll lay out collateral, work on presentation decks, edit photos, and design infographics. You'll also pitch in on video production, motion graphics, and eLearning development. Most importantly, you'll be you: a human-centered designer who grounds their work in empathy, shows up with positivity, and thrives on creative collaboration.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- A portfolio that showcases creative problem-solving, strategic thinking, and a strong user-centered design process
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign®, Illustrator®, and Photoshop® and with impeccably organized digital files
- Proven ability to transform complex, data-heavy text into clear and compelling visuals
- Respect for the written word, a passion for unifying visual and written messages, and a knack for storytelling
- An eye for balance, visual harmony, and simplicity; with a flare for creating dynamic, energetic compositions
- Practiced in gracefully giving and receiving constructive creative feedback

Your Education and Experience...
- Three+ years of graphic and digital design experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
Preferred but Not Required...
- Experience designing adult learning
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and practices
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and practice applying them
- Video editing skills
- Experience using Sketch and InVision
- Experience using instructional design software (e.g., Adobe Captivate®, Articulate Storyline)
