Position Summary:

Salary Range for 2019-2020
Step placement credit may be granted for up to a maximum of 8 years (Step 9) of prior verifiable experience. Salary placement with Fulton County Schools is non-negotiable. Actual salary placement will be based on Fulton County Board of Education experience calculations from the Non-Teaching Salary Schedule B-235, Executive Scale, Step 1 - Step 9.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists the Virtual Learning Coordinator in the coordination, development and implementation of Fulton Virtual, credit recovery programs and personalized learning in collaboration with curriculum and instructional technology staffAssists in the monitoring and evaluation of virtual and personalized learning opportunities throughout the District and recommends enhancements and/or modifications to enhance students' learning experiencesModels exemplary practices regarding virtual and personalized learning implementation and integrationModels what it means to be an empowered and connected learner through the use of digital technologiesProvides professional development and coaching with the use of online and blended learning, digital content, and collaborative learning networks to enhance student achievementAssists school organizations with the development and implementation of personalized learning, virtual and credit recovery programsProvides professional development and coaching in the utilization of personalized learning, virtual and credit recovery learning platformsImplements professional learning programs that model principles of adult learning and promote digital-age best practices in teaching, learning, and assessmentEvaluates professional learning programs to determine the effectiveness on deepening teacher or administrator content knowledge, improving teacher pedagogical skills and/or increasing student learningProvides opportunities and choices for online professional development for teachers and administratorsWorks in collaboration with Director of Instructional Technology, Humanities and STEM Directors, Coordinator of Virtual Learning and other curriculum/instructional leaders to maximize teacher effectiveness as it relates to curriculum, instruction, and assessmentDemonstrates a flexible, adaptive, and responsive approach to the needs of FCS and the students, educators, school organizations, and communities that it servesConveys a positive and professional image to staff and publicEngages in continual learning to deepen knowledge of current and emerging technologiesPerforms other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Education and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education requiredMaster's Degree in Instructional Technology/Virtual Learning preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of three years as an innovative classroom teacher that successfully integrated the use of virtual/blended/personalized learning technologies to enhance student learning with demonstrable results requiredPrior experience with designing, coordinating and providing effective professional development to faculty and staff
Certification/Licensure:
- Must hold or be eligible for a valid and clear teaching certificateGeorgia Leadership Certification preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
- Detailed knowledge and experience with standards-based instruction and assessment best practicesKnowledge and use of a rich array of instructional practices/strategiesKnowledge of technologies available for use in a blended or virtual instructional settingExperience with curriculum developmentDemonstrated knowledge in differentiation and meeting the needs of varied learnersDemonstrated ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners across multiple disciplines and levelsAbility to work with collaborative teamsAbility to think creatively and implement innovative ideasExcellent interpersonal skills needed to coach teachers and implement professional learningAbility to use and develop online resources to support instructionStrong decision-making and problem-solving skillsStrong instructional technology skills, including productivity software and web-based resourcesUnderstanding of class schedulingAbility to work effectively with department personnel and build/manage strong working relationships with diverse groups, including various levels of District staff, private corporations, business leaders, parents and community leadersMust be able to determine scope of work necessary to complete self-directed projects and successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilitiesExperience developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating program goals and initiativesExcellent organizational and time management skillsExcellent communication skills both orally and in writingWill require travel between schoolsNormal office environment
