LOCATION: Castlemont High School
WORK PERIOD: Late Afternoons, Evenings, Saturdays (possible), Afterschool hours (Specific Days TBD)
5:30pm-8:30pm (Includes set-up and clean-up)
Up to 380 hours
DESCRIPTION:
Oakland Adult and Career Education has created an Advanced Manufacturing Fabrication Lab (FabLab). This lab will be used to introduce and expose CTE innovations and advancements in manufacturing technologies to diverse young adult and adult students. This is in order to better prepare students for career opportunities in Advanced Manufacturing and as well as progressing onto postsecondary opportunities.
General oversight and coordination of daily FabLab operations.
Actively outreach and coordinate with interested faculty to incorporate the FabLab into
their course curriculum.
Support faculty to develop project based learning opportunities for CTE and STEAM
(Science Technology Engineering Art & Math) Departments.
Develop and institute Lab workflow and safety procedure.
Coordinate and consult in the development of a CTE based Digital Fabrication Technology
Certificate.
Staff open Fab Lab times.
Facilitate and create Lab workshops, as needed.
Coordinate the purchase of equipment and materials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Possess a valid CTE Credential.
Knowledge of digital design and fabrication software, as well as 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC milling operations, and other fabrication equipment and procedures.
Ability to work in a shared working space and to communicate with site contact, adult education partners, and faculty colleagues.
Possess strength and experience in basic math instruction and instructional technology.
Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
Able to self-start, problem-solve.
Spanish bilingual preferred.
