ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT

Warren Tech is the premier Career and Technical Education (CTE) center for Jefferson County Public Schools. An educational and technological leader, Warren Tech integrates academics in career and technical education, preparing students for both college and career. Warren Tech students are engaged and committed to their programs, which is evidenced by a 93% attendance rate, 96% graduation rate, and a 97% program completion rate. Virtually all programs offer academic credit in 11th or 12th grade math, science, and English, which counts toward their graduation. AP coursework is also offered by some programs. Another hallmark of Warren Tech's success is the college credit awarded to our students each year. Last year, our students earned nearly 13,000 Red Rocks Community College credits. A large number of students attend colleges and universities after finishing Warren Tech, and some students have even earned an Associate's degree in a Warren Tech program before they finish high school. Warren Tech students also earn industry certifications through their coursework and participate in client work, internships, and job shadows with industry partners. ABOUT THE JOB

Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Two years related experience in industry; shop management, automotive parts, or automotive service.
Certifications: Willing to obtain (C1/P1) certificaiton within 1 year.
Other: Demonstrated ability in public relations, communications, record keeping, inventory, parts requisitioning, fabrication of special tools and training aids. Ability to use the computer to do spreadsheets and simple word processing.
Summary of Job: Technician reports to administration, auto technology instructors, and coordinates customer work flow and responds to daily priorities. Works closely with customers, school staff, and district personnel. Responsibilities include parts requisitioning, procurement, and billing. Performs record keeping, instructional support activities and minor maintenance/ repair of tools/equipment. Ability to work cooperatively in a school/team environment with high school students is essential. Must be computer literate. This position will also support the Fire Science instructor when needed. Perform other duties as assigned, some of which may be off-site at the discretion of the instructors. Must posses valid Colorado Drivers license.

Hourly Rate: $20.28 to $22.60 per hour


RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties of job:
  • Demonstrate positive interaction with students, staff, and customers and serve as a positive role model.
  • Maintain shop files
  • Schedule work with instructors and customers
  • Maintain phone communication with customers/vendors
  • Coordinate and prioritize work with customers and instructors
  • Coordinate tool/parts repair and procurement with appropriate vendors
  • Coordinate program donations
  • Work with instructors in acquiring donations
  • Inventory, distribute, dispose of donations
  • Assist in acquiring, preparing, E-testing, titling, selling vehicles
  • Maintain an inventory of necessary supplies
  • Must be able to use a computer to do spreadsheets/word processing
  • Maintain shop security & safety
  • Fabrication and equipment operation
  • Must possess a valid Colorado drivers license and be able to operate district vehicles & tow a trailer
  • Welding skills/fabrication skills are highly desirable
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Light maintenance and record keeping on assigned district vehicles
  • Operate various equipment as necessary
