The Digital Media Program Specialist is responsible for the overall program of SAFARI Montage as it relates to External Partnerships, Central Office usage, School usage (including admins, teachers and students) and Parent usage for the overall purpose of improved communication, collaboration and classroom outcomes.
The Digital Media Program Specialist reports directly to the Manager of Digital Media Systems and is held accountable for the following responsibilities:

As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of his or her CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district.
The Digital Media Program Specialist is responsible for the overall program of SAFARI Montage as it relates to External Partnerships, Central Office usage, School usage (including admins, teachers and students) and Parent usage for the overall purpose of improved communication, collaboration and classroom outcomes.
The Digital Media Program Specialist reports directly to the Manager of Digital Media Systems and is held accountable for the following responsibilities:
- Central office support of department training via our Webinar platform (SAFARI).
- Production support for the monthly CBOE meeting
- Video/Audio recording and editing
- Support of the interoperation of key district platforms (Aspen, School City, SAFARI, Rapid ID) for improved adoption and outcomes.
- Develop and maintain a program calendar and schedule for district wide webinar and streaming activities supported by our program (SAFARI). 200+ each year
- Uploading, tagging and archiving of digital resources for the district.
- Develop and maintain a program calendar and schedule for school based video conferences and streaming activities supported by our program (SAFARI). 500+ each year
- Train stakeholders (schools) on our program platform for the purpose of improved understanding and utilization.
In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Digital Media Program Specialist must possess the following qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Familiarity of educational standards (Illinois State, Next Generation Science and Common Core)
- Capability to learn platforms quickly and then share that knowledge with others
- Strength in managing vendors, interfacing with various central office departments and working with informal learning institutions (Museums, Zoos, Universities and SME's)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, SAFARI, Final Cut Pro, and various web conferencing platforms.
- Ability to create and analyze data related to program performance.
- Capacity to develop effective end user training on all areas of our Digital Media Program for all levels and stakeholders.
Type of Education Required:
- Minimum of College Bachelor's Degree
- Background in Enterprise Digital Media platforms
- Background in Training
- Background in Educational Technology or experience as a school Tech Coordinator
Type of Experience and Number of Years:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience of Project Management experience or equivalent knowledge of CPS operations
- Background in Educational Technology or experience as a school Tech Coordinator
- Background in Enterprise Digital Media platforms or Educational Environments
- Background in Training
- Excellent customer support and relationship management skills
