Brief Description:
The Virtual Loudoun Supervisor is responsible for the organization, operation, and coordination of the online program, Virtual Loudoun. In accordance with these responsibilities, the Virtual Loudoun Supervisor leads the planning, development, implementation, direction, and assessment of the Virtual Loudoun Program.

Detailed Description:
The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed in relation to the position. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate:
• Provides supervision over the work of teachers assigned to teach Virtual Loudoun courses; plans, coordinates, and presents group and individual in-service activities for instructional personnel; Leads the recruitment, employment, and assignment of licensed personnel needed for an effective virtual learning program; plans and implements the instructional orientation of new teachers.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of instruction and instructional courses; determines needs and develops plans to meet these needs, and ensures the program is consistent with and follows the guidelines established by the State Department of Education.
• Works with other central office departments to provide coordinated instructional services.
• Collaborates with the virtual school community to include students, parents, teachers, counselors, administrators, and central office staff to ensure an effective instructional program.
• Fosters effective home and school communication by providing opportunities for parents and teachers to discuss student progress and other matters of mutual concern.
• Coordinates with outside vendors to ensure accurate enrollment in virtual courses.
• Assists in the coordination, selection, purchase, and distribution of enrichment and support materials and equipment.
• Fosters professional growth and building of staff morale, keeps abreast of current research, participates in professional organizations, and keeps Virtual Loudoun staff informed of State and National issues and trends related to program responsibilities.
• Monitors IEPs of students enrolled in Virtual Loudoun to ensure accountability and compliance; attends and participates in IEP meetings, as needed; provides leadership and support to Virtual Loudoun staff to best meet the needs of special education students; and assists and collaborates with the special education department.
• Assists in the preparation of the annual budget of the school system.

Job Requirements:
Below are the qualifications for this position:
• Master's Degree from an accredited university or college
• Postgraduate Professional License; holds or is eligible for an administrative endorsement
• Five years of progressive teaching experience; administrative experience preferred
• Demonstrates the professional and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with school personnel, central office staff, vendors and members of the community
• Possess excellent organization and management skills, strong attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Ability to perform work quickly and efficiently; to plan, organize and prioritize work effectively; to communicate effectively with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds; to work cooperatively with others
• Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use and applications of Technology
