CPS Information and Technology Services (ITS) is seeking an Information Security Training and Communications Lead who will support the information security training program, maintaining security policies, procedures and guidelines as well as communications. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in communications, a solid foundation in training and awareness and a passion for information security.

CPS Information and Technology Services (ITS) is seeking an Information Security Training and Communications Lead who will support the information security training program, maintaining security policies, procedures and guidelines as well as communications. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in communications, a solid foundation in training and awareness and a passion for information security.
The Information Security Training and Communications Lead will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:
- Lead the development of materials, channels, and models of training, including manuals, quick guides, online videos, web conferences and instructor-led classrooms; updates existing materials for latest trends in information security
- Deliver training to a variety of internal and external audiences and skill levels, including new hires, teachers, IT support staff, leadership teams, school-based staff, etc.
- Develop ideas and concepts and translate topics into engaging and accessible online content through user interfaces, graphics, illustrations, animations and/or simulations for e-learning courseware and classroom presentations
- Work with the learning management system and webinar software to deliver training
- Help develop and maintain the process for providing information security training when onboarding new hires
- Draft and edit communications supporting the information security team
- Assist in drafting and maintaining information security policies, standards, guidelines, and oversee the dissemination of security policies and practices
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Helps to monitor adoption of change and analyze performance metrics
Type of Education Required :
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in any discipline or equivalent experience
Type of Experience and Number of Years :
- 5+ In an IT environment with focused attention on information security training and policy development preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Advanced analytical, business acumen and critical thinking skills
- Ability to move from solo projects to team projects collaborating on design and implementation
- Skilled in analyzing the target audience and presenting ideas in a clear, concise manner
- Knowledgeable in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training plans, curricula, and methodology
- Experience with components of effective eLearning and mLearning instructional design synced with learning principles preferred
- Ability to work with subject matter experts in the development of learning experiences
- Desire and ability to work effectively in a public service environment
- Must successfully complete CPS standard background check and live in the city of Chicago
