The Program Officer, Management and Compliance will supervise the district's special education program in assigned regional cluster of schools through consultation, coordination, evaluation, and planning. Assists staff to provide equal and inclusive educational opportunities to special education needs children in accordance with federal and state law.

Salary:
Support Administrator Salary Schedule, Level 2 (Starting at $97, 329)

Work Year: 12 Months

FLSA Status: Exempt

Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Special Education required.

- Valid PA certification in Special Education Supervision

- Must possess at least 5 years of successful teaching experience in the field of Special Education.

- Prior and successful experience with special education administrative roles and responsibilities.

- Prior staff development experience.

- Knowledge of Pennsylvania standards, initiatives and assessments.

- Knowledge of special education programs.

- Excellent presentation and writing skills.

- Extensive knowledge of content-based pedagogy, assessment and technology.

- Demonstrates excellent leadership qualities and effective communication skills with all employees.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Supervise and administer all district programs for children with disabilities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

2. Provide on-going, regularly scheduled consultation to special and regular education personnel in the district.

3. Coordinates the process and procedures for referral, placement, review, and transfer of special education students.

4. Provide on-going consultative assistance, in conjunction with assigned special education teachers, to regular education teachers serving students with disabilities.

5. Maintain information on and liaison with other public and private agencies and individuals who provide services to students with disabilities in the district, including transition aged students.

6. Participate and provide leadership, as appropriate, in the development of the district special education programming and special education budget for approval by the district superintendent.

7. Serve as a local liaison with parents and with parent organizations, including school-based parent centers.

8. Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to support relative RISE components.

9. All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Physical Demand: This position is primarily sedentary in nature. Employee will be required to operate computer system for data entry and have the ability to complete necessary paperwork. This position requires minimum physical effort and not subjected to Occupational Health and Safety risks.
