The Transportation Supervisor supports the Program for Students with Exceptionalities (PSE) by coordinating bus schedules for all schools supporting the PSE students, They will also interact closely with Principals, School Bus Coordinators, Information Processors, and DREA office personnel to establish and maintain, proper and updated transportation information for all students in need of transportation.

Administrative Support Salary Schedule, Level 10 (Starting at $43, 567)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Qualifications:
Bachelors' degree preferred and/or 5 years previous experience in transportation.

The ability and willingness to exhibit competency in the technical areas as such data analysis and transportation routing software.

Residency Requirements: City of Pittsburgh Residency Required

Essential Job Functions:
1. Establish transportation routes for students within a routing software system, including compiling of pupil transportation information.

2. Transportation Supervisor sets up routes transporting students via contracted carriers and students via Port Authority of Allegheny County.

3. Transportation Supervisor established bus routes and hook-ups, which fully utilize the capacity of buses.

4. Works daily with contracted carriers, dispatchers, safety personnel and drivers regarding the daily operation.

5. Monitor vehicles to make sure proper procedures are used with students, including required PA section 1517 bus drills.

6. Maintains surveillance of vehicles throughout the school year to ensure assigned routes are running as scheduled and in compliance with Carrier contract.

7. Assists in providing, supporting and directing of buses at District sponsored activities and events.

8. Any and all other additional duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation.

Additional Job Information:
This position is primarily sedentary in nature. Employee will be required to operate computer system for data entry, and have the ability to complete necessary paperwork. This position requires minimal physical effort and is not typically subjected to Occupational Health and Safety risks.

3. Requires considerable concentration and creativity and the ability to clearly distill large amounts of information.
4. Subject to stress caused by a changing environment, diversity in the organization, tight deadlines and work load.
5. Considerable amount of phone, e-mail and written correspondence activity.
6. Entering, transcribing, recording, storing or maintaining information in both written and electronic form.
7. Must maintain a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania driver's license and must maintain a dependable vehicle, including appropriate proof of automobile insurance.
