Salary Grade: $940 Month Stipend $470 Biweekly

PURPOSE OF JOB:
To develop strategic program and funding enhancements to provide and sustain alternative, parent and after-school programming, community outreach and internal capacity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Incumbents may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the essential job functions and responsibilities.
Identify and secure funding sources to support department initiatives and innovative practices, research and coordinate the development of innovative programming, create a sustainable process to codify internal procedures for various roles within the department.
Research, write and submit 2-3 local, state, and/or federal grants on behalf of Department of Language Services and Cultural Equity and ESOL teachers/staff.
Assist with the writing and editing of current grant reports.
Research and identify models and best practices for a various department initiatives and projects, such as after-school tutoring programs and Parent Empowerment curricula.
Develop and maintain databases related to research.
Work with department and district staff to codify needed standard operating procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BA or BS in Communications/English/Liberal Arts/Education or related field.
Desire to work with urban students and diverse families
Demonstrate competence of Word, Excel, PowerPoint
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual in high incidence language (Spanish, Swahili, Somali, Burmese, Arabic)
