Job Description

Position Overview
Learning Extension Program Instructors (LEPIs) support robust learning and enrichment opportunities for elementary school students at KIPP Philadelphia Elementary Academy (KPEA) as they transition back to full-time, in-person learning this school year and tackle unfinished learning in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. LEPIs have two primary responsibilities: 1) LEPIs provide math tutoring and support to 3rd and 4th grade students and math teachers during the school day either in small group (~2-4 students) settings or as a general classroom assistant (answering questions 1-1, floating around for individual support, assisting the classroom teacher with supervision, etc.), and 2) LEPIs support the after school enrichment program by providing general supervision of students and engaging a subset of students in a specific enrichment topic (examples include art, basketball, drama, etc.). LEPIs are part-time employees who typically dedicate 20-25 hours per week (generally Monday through Friday, 1:00-6:00), though there is some flexibility here. They report directly to the Learning Extension Program Manager. This opportunity begins immediately and will run through mid-June.
