Position Outcomes:
To help staff and students achieve professional and instructional goals through the use of technology.

General Responsibilities:
This person is a key member of the Instructional Technology Team within the Technology and Curriculum & Instruction Departments serving as a department-specific resource for the use and integration of the school's instructional and administrative technologies. The team encourages the meaningful use of tools and resources to support teaching and learning. This person supports the team's mission by providing leadership in the design and implementation of technology usage frameworks and guidelines, exercising initiative and independent judgement in performing duties and in staying current with information and procedures. They must be effective communicators, work intentionally, be prepared and dependable while managing numerous interruptions, maintain a professional demeanor, and be exceptionally well organized.

Qualifications:
1. College degree in related field required; master's degree preferred
2. Software certifications preferred
3. Knowledge of adult learning theories
4. Understanding of instructional coaching practices
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
6. In-depth knowledge and experience working in customer service; use and understanding of various types of hardware, software, and enterprise applications; audio/visual platforms; education technology tools and platforms.
7. Exemplary interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and distinctly with staff, outside agencies, and students.

Position Expectations:
1. Serves as an escalation support resource by:
a. Working with vendor technical support to resolve issues.
b. Evaluating digital resources and use to ensure optimal learning experience.
c. Working with cross-functional teams to test specialty software prior to deployment with the teacher and student perspective in mind.
2. Serves as a liaison between technology and specific departments by:
a. Facilitating communications on updates related to the use of instructional technology.
b. Participating in district committees to represent the interests of the Technology Department and the instructional technology team.
3. Manages department- specific technology resources by:
a. Collaborating with department leadership and teachers to review technology resources for dedicated computer-based classrooms.
b. Providing orientations and demonstrations for the utilization of technology resources.
c. Assisting with the evaluation process for recommending technologies that support teaching and learning.
4. Supports the use of department-specific instructional technologies by:
a. Designing and implementing a framework for creating training materials and documentation for the use of specialty software and edtech tools.
b. Helping teachers implement specialty, core, and instructional technologies.
5. Supports teachers and students in learning about instructional technology by:
a. Designing and implementing a framework for creating custom training materials for the use of district-approved education technology.
b. Designing and supporting personalized, and small and large group technology training for existing and new staff members.
c. Designing and delivering training for students.
d. Delivering software feature/function demonstrations for staff.
6. Supports instructional technology research by:
a. Overseeing the life cycle of instructional technology pilots.
b. Assessing and evaluating teaching & learning needs for integrating and implementing meaningful technology use in the classroom.
c. Exploring workflows that best support teaching and learning.
d. Assisting teachers with curricular-specific & core app evaluations and recommendations.
e. Coordinating and facilitating vendor demonstrations for the purpose of evaluating new solutions.
7. Contributing to the mission of the instructional technology team by:
a. Coordinating resources for student testing that requires the use of technology.
b. Contributing content to online resources.
c. Assisting cross-functional teams in organizing materials and resources.
d. Participating in and contributing to cross-functional team projects and initiatives, as needed.
8. Serves as a guide for instructional design and delivery by:
a . Designing best practices for teaching with technology.
b. Acquiring certifications and other credentials necessary to maintain content expertise.
c. Participating on committees as well as collaborating and prioritizing with stakeholders across the district on technology-related initiatives.
d. Assisting teachers in connecting pedagogical practices and the role/purpose of technology in education.
9. Serves as a leader in the field of instructional technology by:
a. Attending and presenting at conferences in alignment with the goals set forth by the instructional technology team, the technology department, and the district.
b. Collaborating with sender school professional learning community to develop and deliver digital citizenship curriculum across the township.
c. Pursuing opportunities to self-educate in the field of instructional and educational technology.
10. Demonstrates professional responsibility by:
a. Adhering to processes and procedures.
b. Maintaining accurate records.
c. Communicating with stakeholders frequently, accurately, and with professionalism.
d. Participating in and leading cross-training for other technology support teams as needed.
e. Complying fully with school and district regulations and code of conduct.
11. Supports the work environment by:
a. Contributing to a respectful and collaborative environment.
b. Initiating improvements, making revisions and recommendations, and/or helping others do the same.
c. Organizing the physical space and making efficient use of resources. The physical environment must be appropriate to the work activities.
