The Ulster BOCES Adult Education Program is seeking instructors for the Oil Heat program. Classes are taught evenings in Port Ewen, generally from 5:30-9:30 pm on two nights/week. All positions are hourly and flexibility is required. This is a non-benefited position.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Instruction on the foundations of Oil Heat Technician, as required by those who are seeking employment in HVAC field. Includes classroom instruction in both theory and practice including introduction to the burner and oil burner certification and controls. Prepare students for the NORA broze exam.

WORK SCHEDULE :
Two nights per week, 5:30pm - 9:30 pm

SPECIFIC DUTIES :
  • Prepare lectures and instructional activitiesArrange for needed materials with office staff to support classroom instructionPrepare, administer and grade exams to measure student progressArrive at classroom at least 15 minutes before the start of classes and remain until all students departAvailable to respond to student questions immediately before and after classMaintain all attendance records and required documentation for the program

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
High school diploma or equivalency, five years experience in the field preferred
