Among its services, Amplify works in close partnership with districts and states to offer initial and ongoing professional development for tutors using Amplify materials during small group and individual tutoring. Tutors will engage in asynchronous and synchronous training to successfully tutor students using Amplify High-Quality Instructional Materials and assessments.

Position Summary

The Program Manager, Tutoring will play a critical role in managing the professional development offerings for the tutoring program that will be launched to support tutors in Chicago. The primary responsibilities of the Program Manager will be to ensure program success for all professional development for tutors, school, and district stakeholders. The Program Manager will create and implement a project plan.They will also build and maintain external relationships with states and districts in order to keep them informed of the work as well as build and maintain internal relationships with various Amplify teams such as the Enrollment and Licensing team, Customer Support team, and Professional Development team.

The Program Manager will support and oversee scheduling and successful implementation of all asynchronous and synchronous professional development. The Program Manager will organize training for all Professional Learning Specialists and schedule all synchronous professional developments for all external stakeholders. The Program Manager will create systems for registration and communications to tutors and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, results-driven education leader who uses data to make decisions and ensures outstanding support to tutors, stakeholders, and Tutor Coaches. He or she will combine a capacity for systems and strategic thinking, deep instructional knowledge, attention to detail, excellent project management skills, and strong relationship building skills with critical internal and external stakeholders to ensure a successful program implementation. The Tutoring Program Manager will report directly to the Director, Tutoring, Chicago.

*This is a remote position, but candidates must be able to work Central Time Zone hours.

Key Responsibilities

The Tutoring Program Manager will also:
  • Create and implement project plan to successfully oversee the project and regularly provide updates on implementation to internal leadership and district/state leadership
  • Develop systems for scheduling and communicating with tutors and external stakeholders
  • Organize and schedule Training-of-Trainers for a team of Tutor Coaches and Professional Learning Specialists on new synchronous tutoring sessions
  • Schedule Tutor Coaches and Professional Learning Specialists to facilitate synchronous professional development opportunities
  • Organize and track program level implementation data such as the number of sessions delivered, number of tutors attending sessions, and quality of sessions
  • Develop surveys for tutors and other stakeholders in order to report on satisfaction and feedback on the program
  • Develop systems for reporting implementation data collected by Site Managers
  • Plan and facilitate internal team meetings that support tutor development in preparing and implementing lessons
  • Collaboratively develop program goals, team routines and correlating assets, and best practices for tutors
  • Develop and monitor satisfaction and feedback surveys in order to improve systems and structures
  • Maintain partnerships at the district and state level by providing program updates and sharing data trends
  • Routinely analyze project-wide data to pull out trends, codify findings and prioritize project needs
  • Build transparency for both internal and external teams to show visibility and insights


Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Tutoring Program Manager is someone who has the following characteristics:
  • 5+ years of PK-12 school based experience
  • Experience successfully implementing large-scale projects
  • Experience developing and maintaining a project plan
  • Attentive to details related to spreadsheets and scheduling platforms
  • Deep understanding of data analysis standard methodologies in order to drive instruction and increase student achievement
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies and practices, including methods of differentiating instruction and fostering student engagement
  • Experience delivering and leading professional development in a school, district, or state setting
  • Proficient with technology (GoogleMeets, Google docs, Google platforms)
  • Demonstrated experience handling complex projects in school/district settings


Preferred Qualifications
  • Has experience tutoring
  • Knowledge of and experience using Amplify mCLASS products
  • Knowledge of Science of Reading
