JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Specialist-Campus Technology
REPORTS TO: Campus Support Manager
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non Exempt
PAYGRADE: IT 2
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Campus Technology Specialist is responsible for providing support for all hardware, software and infrastructure at high school, middle school and elementary campuses
All employees of Spring ISD are expected to act with integrity, support organizational goals, communicate in a clear and respectful manner, championing the needs of our students and drive continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
60+ hours from an accredited college/university or equivalent job experience
Two years' job related experience with supporting hardware and software.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in technical area from an accredited college or university
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Networking experience using Microsoft Active Directory, Citrix XenDesktop/Xen App, Novell ZenWorks and TCP/IP
At least four years experience with personal computers using Windows operating systems, Chrome, Google Apps for Education, and MS Office
Broad knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
Ability to detect, analyze and resolve technical or technology related problems
At least 2-4 years experience with network and desktop administration
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Support staff and students in a centralized call center
Responsible for all hardware, software and network connections at assigned schools
Install and test network and end user hardware, software, and upgrade at assigned campuses
Work with the Computer Liaison Teacher (CLT) at assigned campuses
Assist end users to resolve problems with hardware and software
Assist in the deployment and support for hardware and software at assigned campuses
Assist in major computer projects
Troubleshoot hardware and software problems
Complete work orders and enter resolution in the work order management system
Direct the work of student helpers
Provide support for other Campus Technology Specialists when work load permits
Complete other duties as assigned by the Campus Support Manager
WORKING CONDITIONS
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting and use of a computer, some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. This position will also require traveling within the district. Mental demands: Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations; Interface with all levels of leadership, dynamic environment with changing priorities and occasional irregular hours. Ability to be effective in both oral and written communication and the ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
