An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must posses or be able to acquire by time of appointment to the position, a teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Administers appropriate District curriculum which is aligned with standards
- Provide, weekly, a minimum of 150 minutes of differentiated instruction to identified GATE students.
- Screens and identifies potential GATE students at assigned campus(es) in order to provide appropriate services.
- Develops and implements effective lesson plans
- Has excellent classroom management/discipline skills ensuring safety at all times.
- Works professionally with all stakeholders (administrators, teachers, support staff and parents)
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and District policy.
- Participates in other duties and activities related to the position, as assigned.
POSITION EXPECTATIONS:
- Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to provide instruction in an elementary classroom
- Provide appropriate curriculum/instruction to identified GATE students in a pull out model
- Provide, a weekly differentiated instruction to identified GATE students
- Work cooperatively with students, parents, peers, administration, and community members
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives in order to meet the needs of all students
- Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects
- Plan, organize, and conduct staff development/training meeting the needs of assigned campus(es).
- Provide appropriate support to general education teachers including modeling lessons, observing students, and assisting in the referral process, identification, and assessment of GATE students
- Participate as an active member with other faculty and staff
- Maintain and improve professional competence
- Communicate effectively both written and orally
