The Project Manager at National Heritage Academies (NHA) is focused on overseeing and facilitating projects and initiatives spanning multiple functional areas. The project manager will lead cross-functional NHA and vendor teams by understanding the various areas that need to be coordinated and using strong communication and organization skills to ensure project success. This individual will work on a variety of projects ranging from school improvements to new custom software implementations. Many projects will work closely with Technology Services. This individual must clearly demonstrate the ability to set deadlines, assign responsibilities, facilitate team meetings, identify risks, assist in issue resolution and monitor and summarize progress of projects. The ability to show previous successes on large IT projects is preferred.

Your Role
- Create and maintain project management documents including, but not limited to: the project plan, statement of work, communication plan and risk management plan.
- Actively execute the project plan including managing of project scope, leading team meetings, completion of tasks, anticipating and managing project risks and ensuring a quality product is delivered within budget.
- Track progress of the project and work with the team to take corrective action if the project is not tracking to plan.
- Regularly communicate status to project stakeholders.
- Assist in issue identification, tracking and resolution.
- Monitor project expenses.
- Motivate individuals and resolve conflict with a variety of groups across the organization.
- Close out the project by delivering all agreed upon deliverables, completing lessons learned, and closing out vendor contracts.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in business management or related field.
- Proven project management skills with a minimum of three to five years of large scale IT project management experience, with increasing levels of responsibility and success.
- Demonstrate strong organization skills, excellent communication skills (both oral and written), exceptional follow through skills, ability to handle sensitive issues effectively, flexibility and adaptability, a very strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills and is results-oriented.
- Highly focused and drives to set ambitious objectives for him/her and the team.
- Strong analytical skills; attention to detail.
- Innovative, with a strong drive to improve and develop technologies and processes.
- Integrity, tenacity, resilience and adaptability in complex situations and a changing environment.
- Able to handle pressure and commit to deadlines.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is plus.
- Understanding of software development life cycle models as well as knowledge of both agile and traditional project management principles and practices.
- Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile/SAFe methodologies is a plus.
- Proficiency with MS Project and other MS Office tools such as: Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio and Outlook.
