Overview
The purpose of this job is to provide computer technical support, training, information, and assistance to school staff.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED supplemented by vocational/technical training in computer hardware/software operations required. One (1) year previous experience and/or training involving computer hardware maintenance preferred. One (1) year previous experience working in a school environment preferred. Basic working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft and Apple preferred. Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.

Responsibilities
- Acts in a professional, respectful, and welcoming manner at all times.
- Creates a customer-focused climate and provides quality services and support to school and other stakeholders.
- Complies with applicable district, state, and federal codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
- Installs district approved hardware and software with assistance from Central Office IT Department if needed.
- Troubleshoots, analyzes, diagnoses, and works to resolve/repair problems involving hardware, software, peripheral, or network problems; monitors/tests equipment operations; seeks assistance/support from Central Office IT Department if needed.
- Trains school staff one-on-one or in groups in how to use technology devices and software. Provides technology support as needed in the classroom.
- Sets up computer security measures in accordance with established protocols. This includes but is not limited to resetting passwords and disabling lost or stolen devices.
- Maintains current inventory records for computer hardware, software, and related components; stores and tracks computer equipment not being used.
- Disposes old equipment no longer usable in the school in accordance with established protocols.
- Communicates through the proper channels to keep supervisor and other appropriate personnel informed of impending problems or events of unusual nature.
- Creates help desk tickets as needed.
- Follows established procedures for ensuring assigned areas are safe.
- Works collaboratively with school staff, students, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Attends work and arrives to work on time.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee Law.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Prepares or completes various forms, lists, reports, correspondence as required. Maintains logs/documentation of work activities, computer operations, system modifications, maintenance activities, installations, and other activities; documents status of repairs.
- Performs general/clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, typing documents, making copies, sending/receiving faxes, filing documentation, processing incoming/outgoing mail, or running errands.
- Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; operates general office/school equipment.
- Monitors inventory of equipment and supplies; ensures availability of adequate materials to conduct work activities; initiates requests for new/replacement materials.
